Association Administrator

skirby@nysmuseums.org

As the Association Administrator, Sarah maintains a growing member and donor database, acts as the first point of contact for communication with the MANY office, works closely with the Board of Directors, and oversees accounts payable and receivable, and grant administration. Sarah produces and tracks member correspondence and donor acknowledgements for nearly 700 paid members from museums, cultural organizations, and industry partners across the state.

Sarah has worked across multiple disciplines at various Capital Region museums and other non-profit organizations for the last decade. She previously served as a trustee and Development Committee Chair for the Schenectady County Historical Society, where she advocated for, and supported professional development staff in fundraising efforts.

Prior to joining the MANY staff, Sarah served as Registrar at the Albany Institute of History & Art. There she conducted an extensive data revitalization effort, allowing for the successful migration of the collections database to a more reliable and contemporary edition. Sarah has a proven record of creating and implementing policies and procedures that support capacity and accessibility through an emphasis on organization wide structure.

Sarah holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Buffalo State University and a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, UK.
